To err is human. To create autocorrect, on the other hand, you need innovative technology, wide-ranging imagination and a thick skin. Ken Kocienda—who worked as an Apple software engineer and designer for 15 years—summoned all three of these while helping to develop autocorrect technology for the iPhone, along with the original Safari web browser and many of the features that have made iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches so humanly addicting.

Kocienda wrote the book on harnessing genius in the digital age, the Wall Street Journal bestseller “Creative Selection: Inside Apple’s Design Process During the Golden Age of Steve Jobs.” In addition to holding more than 50 patents for his work at Apple, he brings diverse life experience to the business of product creation. His early endeavors include earning a history degree from Yale University, learning to fix motorcycles, teaching English in Japan and making fine art photographs.

What can’t Kocienda teach you?

Find out about the processes and practices that have enabled Apple to become one of the world’s most beloved consumer brands by anticipating and exceeding its users’ needs and expectations with new products and constant innovation around its existing line. And learn more about what it means to bring digital ingenuity together with humanity—to create superior products and more meaningful, engaging consumer and member experiences.

THINK 22 welcomes Kocienda and a full slate of breakthrough thinkers to the stage at the credit union industry’s most talked about event, May 2-6 in Chicago. Register now to take advantage of current special pricing.
